Local Area

The Cook is a destination in itself. We are the most popular pub on the strip, and home to Thursday night poker, Sunday Roasts, and Boys Day Out on Thursday nights and Fridays

Captain Cook Hotel Botany - Enjoy a beer with lunch

CONSUMER WARNING: We have topless waitresses help us serve drinks on Thursday nights and Fridays. The atmosphere during these times is always friendly and comfortable and we keep it strictly clean. Our girls are an institution in Botany and we are proud to have them here, but if you are put off by this and decide to go elsewhere, there are no hard feelings from us.

Saturday is race day and we have full TAB facilities, 2 Eureka terminals, 2 Ezybet terminals and enough screens to light up Las Vegas.

If you’re looking to get out and about: the Boralee Aquatic Centre is a 5 minute walk up Bay Street, with an Olympic size pool and water slides. Walk in the opposite direction and you’ll get to the Sir Joseph Banks Park – a National Park with a colourful history (there used to be a racetrack, and a zoo, and it was a favourite destination for early Sydney settlers).  The park has some easy-graded running tracks, BBQ picnic areas and playgrounds.

Jump on the 310 bus for a short ride to the Westfield Shopping Centre at Eastgardens. With over 100 Specialty stores, you can get all your shopping done in one hit!

The Botany Bay Peninsula is home to over 7 golf courses (The Australian, NSW, Lakes, St Michaels, Randwick, Eastlakes, Royal Botany and The Coast), and most offer good time slots to the public, and rent out clubs and buggies. Ask us to book in a round for you.
